Hands on Dance is presented by Anaheim Ballet, and is a proud partner of the county-wide arts festival Imagination Celebration.
Hassan Shamaizadeh
Hassan Shamaizadeh, one of the most influential figures in Persian music as a singer, songwriter, and saxophonist, will take the stage at the Grove of Anaheim for an unforgettable night of legendary songs and stories. Born in 1943, Shamaizadeh’s musical journey began in Iran in 1966 as a founding member of the iconic Persian pop band, Black Cats. His distinct voice and timeless melodies have left a lasting legacy, touching generations of fans. He began his singing career in Iran, later relocating to the United States after the 1979 revolution. Throughout his remarkable career, Shamaizadeh has released 25 albums and over 100 hit songs, including numerous chart-toppers that have remained beloved across decades. His music continues to resonate with audiences, from live performances of the past to those of today, cementing his powerful impact on Persian music. Shamaizadeh's unforgettable contributions continue to inspire and captivate, leaving an enduring legacy in the hearts of fans worldwide.

A Muzeo free event! Celebrate the opening of two new summer exhibitions at Muzeo! Children's Festival
The Anaheim Children’s Festival offers families and people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy exploring and making art together. The Children’s Festival includes booths, art projects, musical and performing groups, and plenty of fun for kids and families! All art activities are FREE to all participants! The Anaheim Children’s Festival has been going strong for 32 years and it continues to grow under the umbrella of the Muzeo Museum and their commitment to the children of the Orange County area. The Anaheim Children’s Festival is presented by the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center and the City of Anaheim, and will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pearson Park in Anaheim.

This new play will be presented as a reading. Readings are an essential part of the play development process. We are proud to offer this as part of our On The Radar (OTR) New Works Program that aims to support the creation of diverse new stories by emerging U.S. playwrights. Click here to learn more about OTR. ABOUT THE SHOW: Siblings Mary and Johnny were raised in the same Christian cult. Now in their 40s, the still religious Mary is having a crisis of faith and is in need of a miracle. Her now secular brother offers a controversial solution. When reunited on a remote mountain in New Mexico, surrounded by energy vortexes, rumors of aliens, and a golden eyelash palm pit viper named Daisy, they wonder: Did they ever know the same God? FROM THE PLAYWRIGHT: I wrote this play at a time when I–and so many around me–were asking questions about our relationship to faith and spirituality. The play is an attempt to explore the balance between our search for answers and certainty with an acceptance/embrace of mystery, the inexplicable, the ineffable. For those who have seen my work at Chance Theater, you’ve now seen an older play of mine ( at the very bottom of a body of water ), a more recent play of mine ( Alma ), and now you’ll get to see one of my newest works with and thou shalt be healed .
